GOV. UMO ENO TAKES HATRED FOR EKID TO THE NEXT LEVEL: FRAMES UP EKID LEADERS TO THE POLICE.

Today, 8/1/2026, a police invitation from the Police Intelligence Unit of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo, was extended to the leaders of the Ekid people, Dr. Samuel Udonsak and Barr. Bassey Dan-Abia Jr,  the President General and Secretary General respectively of the Ekid Peoples' Union (EPU).

The police invitation is vague not disclosing the alleged offense of the invitees and not disclosing the name of the petitioner. 

The police invitation may not be unconnected with the caveat emptor issued by the EPU warning the general public about the fraudulent activities of the Government of Akwa Ibom State in relation to the inappropriate dealings with Ekid ancestral land known as and called the Stubb's Creek Forest Reserve.

Recalled, on 29/12/2025 during a project commissioning event in Eket Local Government Area, Governor Umo Eno complained bitterly about the caveat emptor and vowed to unleash "the force of nature" on Ekid leaders. The governor in his speech warned that Government is very powerful and that he will use full government powers on Dr. Samuel Udonsak.

The Governor also went on personal tirades against Dr. Samuel Udonsak insulting him of not having won the governorship election that he contested about a decade ago. But whereas Dr. Samuel Udonsak does not have a son who is roaming the streets with mental illness of spiritual nature. And but whereas Dr. Samuel Udonsak's daughter have not accused him of using his wife for power ritual. And but whereas Dr. Samuel Udonsak has but only one WAEC certificate with one authentic certificate number, but yet has not used all these weaknesses on personal tirades against anyone.

Be it known to the whole world that the only crime of Ekid leaders is that they have insisted that some top government officials should desist forthwith from misleading local and foreign investors and international financiers with fraudulent misrepresentation about the legal and ownership status of the Stubb's Creek Forest Reserve (also known as Okoiyak). 

Be it known to the whole world that  the issue today with Stubb's Creek Forest is not State interest but economic interest of a few powerful men in Government who see it as spoils of office to be appropriated to their benefit.

Be it known to the whole world that ilked by the uncompromising stands of the Ekid leaders against allowing top government officials to keep plundering the Ekid ancestral Stubb's Creek land to their personal benefits, and to make good the governor's threat, Ekid leaders are now being framed up by the State with intent to intimidate them to submission and surrender from asking for the inalienable constitutional rights of the Ekid people.

Be it known that Ekid will never surrender. We insist that except Governor Umo Eno massacres all the Ekid people alive before resistance on Government's fraudulent dealings with the Stubb's Creek Forest will go unchallenged.
